Fun & Frothy Book Club: Nine Women, One Dress
6:00 PM -
Life's too short to read boring books.

Join Jenny and Katie for this month's meeting of our new book club, a place to read fun books and have great conversation!
We will be reading Nine Women, One Dress by Jane L. Rosen. There are several copies available through Minerva, including Large Print and audiobook editions.

"Natalie is a Bloomingdale’s salesgirl mooning over her ex-boyfriend; Felicia has been quietly in love with her boss for seventeen years; and Andie is a cynical private detective who specializes in cheating husbands.

For these three women, as well as many others—a young model fresh from Alabama, a Hollywood star making her Broadway debut, an unemployed Brown grad who’s been faking a fabulous life on social media—everything is about to change . . . and all thanks to the power of one perfect little black dress."

How Colleges Choose Students with Wendy Thompson
6:00 PM -
Wendy Thompson of Westport Educational Consulting will be at the library to discuss the college application process, and how colleges choose students.

Wendy sees applicants from an admission officer's eye, having worked in admissions at Bowdoin College from 2000-2012. She offers an insider's edge on the college search, selection, and application process. She will discuss how high school course choices, admissions essays, extracurricular activities, SAT scores, interviews, and other criteria all play a role in how colleges see each student.
