Together with several Community Readers who will read published poems they've selected for this event, poet Daniel Tobin will be the featured guest in the first event of the annual Rice Pudding Poetry SeriesIn its fourth year, Rice Pudding Poetry Series at Rice Library in Kittery, ME is modelled after the statewide Poetry Express created by former Maine Poet Laureate Wes McNair. 
 
Daniel Tobin is the author of nine books of poems, including From Nothing, winner of the Julia Ward Howe Award, The Stone in the Air, his suite of versions from the German of Paul Celan, and most recently Blood Labors, named one of the Ten Best Books of 2018 by the New York Times. His poetry has been honored with the "The Discovery/The Nation Award," The Robert Penn Warren Award, the Robert Frost Fellowship, the Katherine Bakeless Nason Prize, the Stephen J. Meringoff Award, the Massachusetts Book Award, the Pushcart Prize, and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation. He teaches at Emerson College in Boston.

It is free and open to the public.

If you have limited joint mobility,
This class may be for you!


Please do not eat a heavy meal an hour before class. Don't forget to bring a water bottle. We will not be wearing shoes in class.
